Variable Speed Trailer in Catterall

Lancashire Constabulary has 2 Variable Message Sign trailers for use across the whole of the Force area. Traffic Police are to deploy a VMS trailer on Garstang Road outside the Village Hall.

It would probably be in situ 24/7 for a minimum of 7 consecutive days and possibly for 14 days depending on competing demands for the trailer at other sites. The trailer is the width and length of a small car and can be set to display almost any message and image.

Police are trying to address complaints regarding cycle safety on Calder Bridge. The trailer does not record images of vehicles but it does record speeds for traffic management purposes.
